What you need
- This feature is currently available to users 18+.
- You must be signed in to a personal Google Account that you manage on your own.
- For the best experience, enable Search history by turning on Web & App Activity.
- This feature is available to Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers in the US in English to those opted-into the "AI Mode" experiment in Search Labs. To become a Google AI Pro or AI Ultra user, subscribe to Google One.
- Deep Search is available on desktop.

Start a Deep Search report
- Go to google.com/aimode on desktop.
- You can also go to www.google.com, and click AI Mode
in the Search bar.
- You can also go to www.google.com, and click AI Mode
- Click Deep Search
in the "Ask anything" bar.
- Enter a question or prompt to explain what you want to research.
- Select Submit
.
- Deep Search will ask clarifying questions to conduct more detailed research for your prompt or question. To provide more details, reply in the response bar near the bottom of the screen and select "Start."
- To proceed without providing more details, select "Start" to start research.
Tips:
- It usually takes about 5 minutes to generate the report since Deep Search analyzes many sources. For more complex reports, it may take longer.
- You can start a new search while Deep Search works.
