Feature availability
- This feature is available as part of the Gemini for Google Workspace Alpha.
- Your administrator controls access to the Gemini for Google Workspace Alpha. If you can’t find these features, your administrator may not have Alpha features enabled for your organization.
- This feature is also available as part of our early access testing program, Google Workspace Labs.
You can choose from 12 different preset AI avatars. Each has a different look and built-in voice. When you use these AI avatars, you can add spoken content without the need to record audio.
Each week you can generate up to 15 AI avatar generations. The weekly limit resets 7 days after your first AI avatar generation at 12:00 AM PST. Limits are subject to change. Learn about limits for Google Vids.
Use AI avatars
- On your computer, open Google Vids.
- Select a video.
- Or, you can click Start a new video

- Or, you can click Start a new video
- Open the scene where you want to insert your AI avatar.
- To open the “AI Avatar” side panel, in the sidebar, click Avatar
.
- To add a script to your scene and have your AI avatar narrate, click Add your script.
- To change your AI avatar, below the script, click Edit
.
- To preview AI avatar voices, hover over the options.
- Each AI avatar comes with a predefined voice.

Select After the AI avatar is generated, it’s automatically added to the assigned scene in your video.
Tip: While one avatar generates in a scene, you can create and generate avatars in other scenes.
Use policies for AI avatars
The AI avatars are created through generative AI and are not real people. Usage of this feature is subject to the Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy.
Give feedback about AI avatars
Gemini for Google Workspace is constantly learning and may not be able to support your request.
If you get a generation that’s inaccurate or that you feel is unsafe, you can let us know by submitting feedback. Your feedback can help improve AI-assisted Workspace features and broader Google efforts in AI.
Because feedback may be human readable, do not submit data that contains personal, confidential, or sensitive information.
To provide feedback on AI avatars, after you add an AI avatar to your video, in the pop-up, rate the avatar as Good or Bad

To provide general feedback on this feature:
- In your menu bar, click Help
- Describe your issue or suggestions.
- To help identify the issue, select Capture screenshot.
- Click Send.
